Local Activity Report: E=MC²

Event Details:

On November 10, 2024, we organized a follow-up activity for the Erasmus = eMpowering + partiCipation of youth in double (E=MC²) project, focusing on empowering young people to actively participate in society and fostering connections to the European project. This interactive event involved 60 attendees, including youth and youth workers, and lasted one hour.

Objective of the Local Activity:

The goal of the activity was to share experiences and insights gained during the Youth Exchange (YE) held in Cyprus from November 1-9, 2024. The local follow-up aimed to inspire young people and youth workers to embrace active citizenship, promote inclusion, and adopt innovative learning methods.

  • Sharing personal experiences from the Youth Exchange participants.

  • Interactive discussion on tools and methods for empowering youth in local communities.

Learnings Highlighted:
The activity emphasized the following:

    • Encouraged young people to engage in society and contribute to their communities.

    • Highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in fostering inclusion and cooperation.

  2. Non-Formal Education Tools:

    • Shared innovative methods like team-building activities, public speaking exercises, and debate workshops that foster self-awareness and leadership skills.

    • Demonstrated how communication tools, such as message coding and decoding games, can be used to improve interpersonal skills.

  3. Promoting Inclusion and European Values:

    • Discussed ways to engage individuals with fewer opportunities through accessible and inclusive initiatives.

    • Showcased the Erasmus+ program as a platform for personal and professional growth.

Participant Feedback:

Attendees found the session engaging and informative. Many expressed interest in applying the shared methods to their personal and professional contexts, particularly in creating inclusive spaces for youth participation.

Impact:

The follow-up activity successfully bridged international and local learning by:

  • Inspiring participants to adopt active citizenship and innovative approaches in their communities.

  • Raising awareness of the Erasmus+ program and its benefits.

  • Strengthening connections between youth workers and local organizations.

This event not only disseminated the outcomes of the E=MC² project but also laid the foundation for ongoing collaboration and empowerment in the local community.

Stefi: Every Erasmus+ project is the best opportunity to get to know new people and bound with them for life. I am glad that i took part of this project and that i got to create so many new friendships. I learned a lot from E=mc2 and it helped me develop my english and my communication skills while having fun.

I really enjoyed the topic of the project, I think it's gonna be very usefull for me in the future. Also, the activities were really interesting and well-organized. My favorite one was the debate one, because it took me out of my comfort zone, and it helped me improve my confidence.

Cătalina: The experience I had during the Erasmus project in Cyprus had a profound impact on me, offering me the opportunity to discover a variety of different characters, wonderful places, and diverse perspectives on the world. Moreover, I managed to discover myself. I learned the true meaning of communication and the importance of expressing it, so that the message received or delivered is the intended one. Thus, the project's focus, communication, fulfilled its purpose, helping all of us approach it in an interactive and enjoyable way, while also forming genuine friendships and acquiring numerous skills and competencies, aiming at personal development as well as creativity and prosperity.

Daria: I had such an amazing time in this Erasmus (E=MC2). I met a lot of new people from all around the world and discovered interesting things about different cultures. We visited Limassol and Pissouri (where I found a lot of cats :) ) and we survived a storm while doing some tasks. Everyone was kind and open to help with information and the place was amazing.

Iustin: I'm so thankful for having the opportunity to join this amazing project, in which I learned a lot of new things about communication and emotional intelligence, made new friends and had the best time. I can't wait to go in more projects like this and visit Cyprus and Hylatio Tourist Village again

Robi: I am very glad that i took part of this project which was also my first Erasmus experience."E=MC2" was focused on communication. I've learned so many new things and developed my communication and English skills.

Elena: The project E=mc2 was a great opportunity for youths to improve their communication skills, get to know international communities and connect with youths from different countries.

Eddy: I'm glad that during the project E=MC2 I had the opportunity as leader to involve together with the youths I represented and to work together in developing skills as communication, digital and working on youthpass competences.
